frogging around

Frogs and legs. Regarding my yesterday's late night - or afternoon tea - question - depending on like time zones and all, you know - about frog legs your comments got me thinking: do they actually really taste like any other meat? - may the veggies or meat lover among us speak up!? - and if so, would we  say they're 'frogilicious'? Who knows, you know, if you haven't tried? and although I know, speaking as a VIP (meaning: vegetables insistently preferred, what else?), I kinda shoulda just go for it - for the sake of frogiliciousness, if you will - I probably won't. For now at least. Dunno, escargots seemed to crawl down the throat much easier - but must say, however, they absolutely didn't become one of my favorite dishes... so I think the legs have to wait too. Well, well, well thanks god (or whomsoever) the blog's topic isn't extraordinary food but fashion, so we better start talking about dressing as a frog...
Yep, you actually really did read right, today we'll discuss a frogocious way of dressing (fasten your seatbelts, friends, it's gonna be a frog-ish vocabulary overload): well, well, well, what shall I say? The color's crucial, for sure, as it makes or breaks the, you know, frogilicious outfit slash moment slash feeling. So that's half the battle! What more does one need to, you know, frog around - happily ever after (of course)? Right! Some striking yet matchy matchy accessories - yeah, right, I do know they don't wear accessories IRL (meaning: in real life) but it doesn't mean they we can't, smarty-pantsy-pants! - and some strange sunnies that give you those goggle eyes to, you know, goggle around and all. That's it, basically. Oh and don't forget to show your crunchy legs, you know, as they do. So basically - to the second - the thing, my dear friends, is this: dress frog-ish but don't frog out and don't get all frogo-bitched - the royal check may always be a frog-o-some painted wall in the middle of nowhere, if you still stand out, you know, standing in front of 'em, u did a great job! Quack? quack-i-di-quack-quack!

PS: don't worry, today I'm back to normal, you know, a no-show-frog. hahaha
Outfit: dress, sunnies and necklace H&M, shoes vintage

PPS: more of the shoes soon up here at IOWA, where else?!

Happy Mondays everyone!

frogilicious

Sneak peek. Have you ever tried frog legs? I wonder if they actually really taste as good as they the boy says. Gotcha thinking, huh? Oh what a great topic to ponder over a Sunday evening plus the night, if you will, long. There you go!

PS: more up tomorrow, promised, so stay tuned!

Oh Isabel

image: bag Patrizia Pepe, playsuit Isabel Marant

tie-dye. Remember discussing the playsuit above? like here and here and here? Well, I finally decided that I couldn't slash shouldn't slash wouldn't live without it, so I won't. Oh Isabel, thanks for putting a million dollar baby smile on my face, for making me look effortlessly cool and last but not least for bankrupting me by still being so darling. Oh Isabel, I hate hate hate, but love you (you, you, you and your terribly awesome designs).

Enjoy your Sundays!

MORE ON GREEN

Outfit: denim shirt, shoes Zara, everything else H&M

Nature. No big words today, the sun's out again, flowers are blossoming and the grass is growing fast. I tell ya, I'm enjoying the walks in the green to the fullest in a casual white-y-white lace playsuit-ish two parter - is that an oxymoron? I'm trying to shine with my rhetorical skills, see? - and a denim shirt that I've thrown over to avoid goosebumps in the shadow, to not only breathe the spring-ish air but also feel the warmth and rays of sun, you know, for the sake of intensity. So I'm off again to France to, you know, vive la France.

Have a wonderful weekend!

NEON GRASS GREEN

UGLIEST DRESS. Is that a color? Well, it is... one that radiates eye cancer, joy, light, love, ... and makes you lusting for sun, sunglasses (!), ice pop and an oversized cloak... in black for the sake of curing eye inflammation. The thing, my dear friends, is this: it's probably the ugliest color that I can ever like EVER imagine, the water resistant transparent over dress is kinda helpful to, you know, resist water, but in fact it looks like the paper they use to wrap flowers in... at the gas pump, the cut is what I'd call kinda cute especially the Peter Pan collar but then again, it's waaay too loose - oh and did I mention the color?

So to come clear, it may actually be a no-go-no-show dress but then again, with all its ugliness and for the sake of 10$  I couldn't leave it behind, you know, in the shop. And call me crazy but now that I have it, I kinda like it not in spite of but especially because of it's, you know, ugliness otherness.
So the other thing, my dear friends, is, the color will probably very easily sweep me and my paleness - I us to talk of us as a "we" as we became inevitably good friends - away but, you know, I don't mind, I gonna let it have its moment, for sure.

COLOR BLOCKIN'

Overlay. Or should I say overload? Naaahh, u can never have too much of me, right? Shoulda ask my brother - naaahh let's skip that and discuss, you know, not my weirdly shining face (probably due to my neon selfs to the right, to the right, to the right and left, left and, you know, left) but - and just for a second - my even funnier pose. No seriously, am I phoning? scratching my ear? or, what would actually be the simplest explanation if there wasn't the bun, pushing my hair behind my ear? ... you name it!
And now that we've racked our brains about a story as serious as, you know, my dog's daily strolls global peace, let's talk about another trivial heartbreaking topic such as... tam-ta-tam-tam (trying to build up tension, see? or rather feel?): the outfit! Here we have a shining example of a casual leather on leather on leather ooon leather, black on black on black ooon black ... and a major corduroy statement necklace that u can hardly see only if you try (bring it on, lazy!) thanks to the pic's super duper quality... so that's it, what do you think?

PS: some more summer-ish outfits are to come when the bitch sun decides to show up again! Yep, she's a no-show.

Happy Thursday everyone! (and happy weekend to me, hooraay)

Snow White

still kinda amused by the fact that my blazer and skin have the same color. haha. ha. ha. h- not that hilarious anymore, now that I've said it, you know, first, huh? TAKE THAT oh what a pity neener-neener  on the other hand this over-over-oversized blazer kinda reminds me of scrubs which I find even more amusing than my skin tone. But then again, who knows a doctor that wears flowery statement necklaces at work? - hands up!? or, however, scrubs in their free time? - the other way, you know, round - and again, hands up!? well, by the fact that I can't see any hands up haha  I'd say I'm the only one who has some association issues hooorayyy - wait. that's a good thing?!

Anyways, regarding the outfit, you know, when it comes to serious talking, I went for something very casual, a simple black tee and a pair of The Kooples denim pants, pimped the whole look with the Marni at H&M necklace and a bright orange lipstick, threw over the blazer in question and was ready to, you know, go! What do you think?

... wait! Take a moment for a weird foolish pose at the end, it's a must - I know you know.
Outfit: shoes, blazer ZARA, necklace Marni at H&M, pants The Kooples

Have a great day!

things in my room (pt.II)

some more stuff.  that's lies around in my room. I stock up on KIEHL'S lately, the usual, you know, ULTRA basics as there are the Ultra Facial Cleanser, the Ultra Facial Moisturizer aaaand the Eye Alert for tired eye after, you know, um university... definitely helps, definitely needed. Oh and I do have that yummy yummy and smooth vanilla palm balm chap stick too which still lies here. Try to not use it like every day slash every minute slash every second to avoid addiction and all, yep...
yep yep and here some of my sunnies, yet not all of them, of course. Yep, I'm a sunglasses addict lover, you know, avoiding the addiction. But then again, they say I have a face for sunnies, small ones, big ones, bulky ones but especially huge like huuuge ones - you might be flattered but it isn't actually a thing to be stuck up about, you know... especially not when keeping my grandma's words in mind: the bigger they are, the less one sees ya face! in yo face! and me answering: and that' a good thing?! .... uuum you name it...
and finally some accessories. That's it, my brain hits the wall  over and done.

Have a great day!

THE BOOTS

let's pretend. So when they all head off to Coachella... and I can't join 'em, it doesn't mean I can't pretend slash dress slash dance as if I'm there, you know, with 'em, right? For the sake of solidarity and all, you know - so I do. And here I am, again with THE PARKA, here and here, again with my cate eyes in the middle of my grandparents' garden wearing my mother's boots. The boots. No, THE boots. I've always had an eye on 'em or rather a foot in 'em ever since my mom brought them home from uhm.. Milan, I guess. The thing is, they kinda are too big for me but I don't care, I just pretend they fit perfectly...
or, on the other hand, I can fly... uhm, yeah, right... to each her, meaning my, own that is a super hero moment.. and even though it's been only seconds like milliseconds - since I didn't manage to keep the pose any longer - it felt like ... uhm... a day. Nuts! Of course it didn't but you know, it's a start, right? ... and we can still, you know, pretend...
Call it a miracle, call it a day, just ignore the super duper trendy peplum top, you know, for only one second since on another, meaning the third hand (who knows where that one came from?), I did manage to romper tromper in these boots, no, THESE boots, the whole day, at least. Quite a thing if you keep my size difference problem in mind, right? So excuse my lame quote that kinda simply had to come "these boots were made for walking". I know you know.
Outfit: my mommy's boots, skirt Celyn B., top H&M, parka ZARA

Have a great day!

Things in my room

Nightstand. That's how my nightstand in my new room at home (you know, which switched from home^3 to home, just home) looks like at the moment. It's all still kinda messy since I have to squeeze almost a whole apartment into only one room but, you know, it will be okay ... when I'll get my wardrobe, which should arrive next week, at least... haha

Happy Sundays everyone!

IN ACTION

The parka in action. I'm lovin' it. See the zippers at the lower arm? To die for, right? It's the details which make it unique, right?... Naahh, frankly, I wouldn't want to rack my brain by finding philosophic words transforming 'em into "had-to-buy, because"-reasons, so I'm not, ... since, it's nothing but, you know, rad, right?! Rad, rad, rad. and rad. Nothing more to say!
Oh and btw, I tried to take some nice pics with my lovely dog who's very photogenic but kinda, you know, camera-shy, so she always uses to turn her butt at the camera, nasty right? A clever dog, if you will, or well, maybe she doesn't get it at all - I mean who knows? She never says, you know, anything, but eats and begs and sleeps and snores and sometimes and only sometimes slobbers... however, funny enough, I totally screwed up the only chance of getting a decent, meaning her half-of-the-butt-but-still-ignoring-the-camera-pose, dog plus owner (or the other way round?) snap by making the face.. below. Katsching!
Outfit: parka, pants, shoes ZARA, shirt Acne, sweater Marni at H&M, sunnies MNG

THE PARKA

New In. Would you believe that's my very first parka? In fact, it is. And even though it's the ultimate must-must-double-have-(have) if you believe in fashion magazines' reports, we, meaning the parka and me, never managed to become friends. Frankly, I never really knew whether I should like them or not. But then again, I've been toying with the idea of having one like that ever since I've spotted its first version at ZARA, you know, a not-so-basic basic parka, meaning, with leather sleeves. Long story short: I couldn't resist to stop flirting and start wearing it, you know, outside the shop and I'm starting, yeah, right, today!! Whoop whoop. What do you think?

Happy Fridays everyone!

Casual and a Smile

or two. So here we have a camel cape, some denim pants, some Chelsea boots which kinda make one's feet look big-foot-ish - or maybe it's just me or rather them? but then again, I meaning them, they're a US 7, kinda average, kinda not thaaat big, huh? - some eye bags - a must-have for the sake of university packed week-days, if you will - AND my all time favorite, thus a must-have, the men's shirt. Let's call it an easy peasy look for, you know, every day, ... aaaand still, even if I wouldn't call it eye-catching, it is, in fact, for the sake of simplicity and well, call it minimalistic sartorialism, if you will..
Outfit: pants The Kooples boots CHURCH'S, cape H&M, shirt Boss, watch CCCP, bracelets Vintage

Like a Wanderer

Like a Hobo. like a whatever. More on dressing stylish when the sun still acts as a bitch and the rain enjoys its moment, you know, to the fullest, you know, literally! As you can see I'm still doing it without an umbrella but with a whole lot of water repelling leather. Today's more rain, today's more boho. I've been searching for a hat like that one for quite a time now but they never had the right size, the right shape, the right, you know, floppiness... and all. Funny enough, I found this one nowhere else than at H&M...
So we have the hat for the, you know, upper regions, the leather, the extra long coat that protects the skin you're in - even if it's not yours like REALLY YOURS, you know, metaphorically spoken - some studs on the bag, some studs on the shoes, wavy-surfy-beachy-rainy textured hair and an old chunky-shrunk-y knitted sweater from my dad. Check, check, check, check, double check, check aaand check. Ready to go, ready to rumble.

Outfit: shoes Vic Matie, pants ARMA, sweater, bag & scarf Vintage, coat ZARA, hat H&M

WORLD FASHION WEEK TOUR | NEW YORK '12

FASHIOLISTA PARTY. FINALLY I can show you all these wicked Lomography Fisheye snaps that were shot in a very special party night in New York f**king City at the Blind Barber's. Hot people from all around the world talking about the industry and dancing wild - all of those, you know, sartorially wrapped up - uuuh, it's a wordplay - at a mysterious location, having some wrappy snacks - got it? got it? u got it! - and killer drinks (exclamation point to the cube)!!! A night to remember. Aaaaand here you go...

FEELS RIGHT

looks right. Yep, again the red hot suede pants. Frankly, I did wear them again the other day. Let's call it a red overloaded week. The thing, my friends, is this: they are soooo comfy. It's truly as simple as that. So what's the harm? It does look dressy like, you know, sartorially dressed but at the same time it feels as comfy as PJ's - so it got me thinking, why on earth do we tend to wear (too) tight pants, bikinis slash bras as tops (which, again, have their moment) and high heels for the occasion? But then again, I was like "oh, yeah right" - all that, you know, for the sake of uncomfortableness, looks soooo much better. It's truly as simple as that, again. Anyways, it's nice to see - once in a while, at least - that not everything that feels wrong looks right. HAHA. you know.
The leather jacket's actually a hoodie which I find not only very fashionable since it's not the oh so usual biker leather jacket, but also kinda practical, you know, comes in handy if you forget slash loose slash give up on umbrellas, as I manifested here, and it starts to bucket down. I know you know. Just throw it over to make sure your upper regions stay dry...

BATHROOM LOVE

On top. Must say, didn't expect a bathroom like this on the top of the top floor, you know, regarding the view (? um yeah) or rather the huge like huuuge windows that make it even possible (um right) that turned out to be th perfect like PERFECT location to take some outfit pics. Needless to say, thanks to the surprise surprise SURPRISE, I had (almost) nothing with me, no bag, no camera ... but my iPhone (hehe) - expect the unexpected, huh? I'll - meaning we'll - never finish learning right? Anyways, thanks to the, no, correct, THE mobile device and the sake of girlishness, you know, haunting the bathrooms as a pack, I - meaning we - could still capture the moment. Admitted, not as good as it could have been but I'll be back, for sure - just for you, my dear, dear bathroom. Yep.
Well, well, well, the outfit, kinda casual, kinda rocking, kinda sartorially dressed: u know I have a thing for collars and leathers, u know I like to snitch and snatch one or two items of my dad's slash brother's slash the boy's closet and u know I love to mix&match - so there you are, the shining example of my favorite kind of dressing. So simple, yet eye catching - and oh so figure hugging (hehe) : go for something over-over-oversized on top and something tight-y-tight below plus something flashy clashy dashy on the lips. I know, you know.

Outfit: boots CHURCH'S, shirt Acne, pants ARMA, my dad's sweater, jacket Atos Lombardini

a cat eyed kinda gal

Oh yeah. Black cat to the left, black cat to the right - it's Friday the 13th so u better watch out!
Admitted, one always does look a little bit freaky, slightly weird and kinda pops out of the crowd when wearing cat eye sunnies, especially when paired with a purple-ish - or let's call it aubergine-colored, ...  well, is it? or is it maroon with a dash of lilac mixed with raspberry and magenta, yep, the latter, I guess - could go up in smoke when discussing colors, wallpapers and all, never mind, that's another story - jelly bag-ish cap. Yep yep yep, but I'm used to that anyway and act as if no one knows me... funny enough, it's actually true and still, there're a bunch of people remembering me doing this and that... and there we are again, standing out thanks to my, you know, out standing way of dressing.. - even if I wouldn't want to call it so - you know, maybe it's just my roaring laughter and my doubtfully hot dancing moves ... - you name it!

Oh and the minimalism coat's back AGAIN, bloody April, and actually not so minimal anymore thanks to the wrappy strappy leather belt. Sooo what do ya think?
