DIY: Statue of Liberty

The idea of an DIY studded headband was already spinning around in my head for a couple of months now and became even more concrete when I brought myself to enter a punk shop to buy some studs for the "pimp your collar" DIY which you can check out here
I had some studs left but the problem was I didn't know how to pierce an Alice band. Then I thought of a (faux) leather band which I could convert into a head band plus easily pierce with that piercing thing tool below. Turned out it's not that easy to find the perfect leather band regarding size, thickness, ... and all. Or maybe it's just me. Anyways, the boy came up with a super super duper idea that is: using a belt which is absolutely amazing since I knew I had the perfect belt at home. It came with a dress by ZARA but didn't like the combo so removed the belt, kept it safely in the back of my closet, though... long story short: 6 STEPS and I'm a better copy than the Statue of Liberty itself.

STEP 1: prepare all the components: studs, piercing tool, leather band (here: belt), scrunchy, a pair of scissors

STEP 2: pierce the leather band
NOTE: you can measure the hole distances if you like or draw by eye (I prefer the latter)
STEP 3: pierce two extra holes at the ends and fold the them backwards so that you have loop
NOTE: the holes should be "face to face" now
STEP 4: thread the scrunchy in and fix the loop with a stud
NOTE: the scrunchy will keep the head band together
STEP 5: repeat STEP 4
NOTE: the scrunchy will make the headband elastic
STEP 6: pierce the leather band as often as you like, press the catches through it and tighten the studs
NOTE: you can use different kinds of studs like I did here
That's it! Easy peasy, huh?

Have a wonderful day!
xx, A.
