Royal. To all our surprise the sun decided to show up every now and then, so we decided to go for a walk in the garden of the famous Belvedere, which used to be the royal summer residence back in the baroque period. But enough of history - felt like dressing like a little royal, though - I was wearing the ombre sweater which fuzzed like mad but tried to ignore it since it looks sooo rad (frankly more on the photos than in "real life"), matched an old ruffle blouse, buttoned it up but the first one on top was missing (how could that happen??) which really annoyed me, fished that vintage brooch I got some years ago at London's Portobello market out of my jewelry box, fixed it and voilà there I went...

IOWA x Mühlbauer (pt. one)
photos by Anna
NEON. A couple of days ago the well known Viennese fashion & hat boutique Mühlbauer invited me to stop by, choose some items and create two "it's on with allegra"-like outfits. I was absolutely excited since they have a bunch of really cool brands like JC/DC and Vivienne Westwood. The first look is kinda edgy, very 60s: thanks to its color the neon pink coat was totally standing out, I fell in love immediately. It's one of these items you're craving for but never ever will buy unless money wouldn't matter, you know... so it was the perfect occasion to wear something gorgeous and flashy like that once. The feather thing I was wearing on my head was really special too. It made the whole look more chic and added that certain je ne sais quoi if you ask me.
PS: you can find my interview here (it's in German - gonna translate it for part two, promised!)

Shades of Nude
Perfect match. Do you remember that blouse and its special detail? Kinda unfair since you can hardly notice it here. The thing is you can wear it both ways round: like a ordinary shirt with buttons in the front but also vice versa with the buttons in the back as it's the designer's intention plus like I wore it once back in June (click here). Paired it with a plaited skirt I wear way too often and the "sooo ugly, I WANT" sweater as I use to call it - will never forget that shopping experience I made some years ago (y.e.a.r.s. gosh, again, time flies!!) when I was shouting to a very good friend of mine across the whole shop fully shocked "WTH how ugly is that???" and in the next moment after some seconds doubling up with laughter I found myself stopping in my tracks saying "I WANT IT!" Thankfully the sweater was on sale, wouldn't have paid the full price, I guess. Anyways, that experience has been one of a kind so far. Still in love and thanks to its funny color combo it turns out it's the perfect item when it comes to mix & match different shades of nude.

denim & floral basics
1st of Advent. After having Chinese breakfast for the first time - kinda funny for one who's used to eat sweet things in the morning but really good! - we went to the Nashmarkt for some shopping, made mulled wine and ate some Christmas cookies. What a great way to welcome the most trashy yet wonderful time of the year - even if I still refuse to dress like the cold actually demands. So some more layering and a different like more casual way how to mix & match the floral blouse I've also worn here. Feels like it's been ages since I've worn those denim trousers the last time, don't know why, they're extremely comfy and seem perfect for a relaxed day PLUS you can pimp them so easily with a preppy men's shirt or a romantic blouse like I did here. YAY for basics!

BLOGGER'S WARDROBE LAUNCH
It's official. "Everyone, we are live and ready" the BW team announced on their FB fan page. As you may know I'm one of the BW bloggers so I'm super excited and can't wait to S.H.O.P. F.O.R. F.R.E.E.! They've selected some nordic brands and will add more and also international ones time by time. I'm really happy about being part of this "revolution" - thanks to your amazing votes and the team's choice - and curious about the future. I'll keep you posted but for now, I'm off to explore the website!

Biker meets Grandma
Layers. When it's below zero layering gets a whole new meaning. Felt like those old beer bellied but slim legged bikers. Funny enough I topped it off with a granny style (but way more sassy) pearl necklace and hairdo aka a low bun. A quite rad combo, I guess haha
I'm just not ready yet for down jackets, UGGs and all that, so I keep on layering... what about you?

SNEAK A PEAK | TODAY'S OUTFIT
Pearls. Is there anything more classy? I like all kinds whether their big or small, long or short but at the moment I'm very into those tight around the neck ones, not too conservative but in a sassy way like that twisted one I found at forever 21.
Have a wonderful day!

Peter Pan and his Bunny
Collar. The sweater comes in deep blue and green, normally, but the weather kinda forced me to pull over an oversize cashmere jumper I snatched from my daddy's closet years ago. Put the collar over and voilà a classy black and white Peter Pan collar combo appears - multifunctionality WIN!
PS: quite bunny loaded lately haha - sooo fascinated!

Cover. My mobile needed something to wear - it's sooo cold outside, the air has about 4 degrees but it feels like below zero and it was already snowing... a tiny little bit, but at least. So you gotta protect the skin you're in as Marc said once (even if it's just your mobile's)!

Poisoning Pigeons in the Park
Grandpa's blazer. Ever since I've worn this oversize crossover coat for the first time my brother uses to ask me if I'm wearing grandpa's old blazer again but I think he doesn't really understand that kind of styling and just in case you're reading that, dear brother, I know you're shaking your head in disbelief but actually, you're not allone. Nope, not at all but I don't mind 'cause I love its unshapely cut, the XL collar and of course its color - speaking of shapelessness: that's exactly what makes it special, I mean yes, I'm a woman and yes, I have hips and other curves but frankly there's no need to go around showing the whole world what mama gave you ;) haha ... you know!
Something different: I went to the park with beautiful Mia the other day not to poison the pigeons but to discover how amazing a fall-like park can be (never mind the cold, Mia). Of course we couldn't resist to take some photos at this picturesque place, check hers here.

A GIRL CAN NEVER RESIST
Outfit: shorts A.A., blouse and clutch ZARA
something sparkly. Well, I can't at least. That has always been the case. I also fell in love with that blouse which reminds me of those unfashionable Hawaiian shirts, just a little bit, but in a good and sophisticated way, you know... although it doesn't look like it here the blouse's background color is dark blue not black which I would call a fluent passage regarding writing... apropos, the shorts and my nails are dark blue - not black - too, btw ;)
As to the makeup I thought the outfit needs an extra thick lid line à la Winehouse and some flashy colored lips (I mixed rouge coco #17 "orchidée" and rouge allure velvet #37 "l'exubérante" - both by Chanel) to round it off.
PS: looking at the photos, it strikes me that the "ombre" hairstyle becomes more and more visible, F.I.N.A.L.L.Y. so yaaay for that!
Happy Monday everyone!

how to spend the cold season
10 things. When the leaves change their color, the sun shows up less and the wind whistles round your ears you know winter's all about to knock on your door. When it's time for the cold season, it's also time to change your wardrobe, to keep yourself warm and cozy and to spend even more time with family and friends.
So here some MUST-DOs which make you forget the freezy-breezy weather but help you to enjoy it:
1. sprawl out on the sofa and watch some of your favorite Christmas movies
2. wrap yourself up nice and warm with a long scarf, a cap and gloves - layers is all we need!
3. have a hot chocolate, tea or coffee to keep yourself warm
4. cook something for your loves, go for an after-dinner walk and enjoy the winter wonderland
5. decorate your home Christmasy and listen to Christmas songs
6. do some Christmas shopping (not only online, go outside!) and have some warm punch at the fairs afterwards
7. nestle cozily in your favorite café and read the latest fashion magazines, books or whatever
8. pretend that it isn't that cold outside, dress up and party with your friends at least once a week
9. bake some cookies and invite your friends to sleep over
10. keep your feet warm with Timberlands even if you think you won't look sooo stylish anymore - frankly, some frozen toes don't look that fashionable either AND these shoes will definitely save you from slipping PLUS I'm gonna show you how to wear them right asap ;) hehe
Have a wonderful Sunday, lovelies!

Amsterdam diary part II
In love. Yes, it's true and I shout it out loud: I ♥ AMSTERDAM! It's one of these cities which are extremely beautiful even if the weather is a mess, even by night and even if you're almost about to freeze so you know it just has to be even more amazing (although you can't imagine that) if the sun shines bright - dollars to doughnuts!
I sooo want to go back as soon as possible, I can even imagine to live there for some years - in fact, I'm already making plans, just in my head, nothing serious but who knows... for now I stay in my very own bubble of memories and melt away.
PS: again, some snapshots are taken by my reflex or digital camera or my cousin's iPhone, so the quality varies here and there, hope you don't mind.

SEMI TRANSPARENCE
and pyjama pants. Love the pyjama-esque cut of those pants which makes you look sturdy and which you may have never thought to see on me, but in combination with that semi transparent dotted blouse it becomes more my style, I guess, even if I wouldn't say I have a particular style but it definitely gives a distinctive character to the look, a major dose of Allegra ... and that's a good thing haha - what do you think? Like?

LET'S REDISCOVER
Christmasy stuff. My oh my, time flies and all of a sudden Christmas is almost here - no kidding! Of course you've already seen all the Christmas decoration which is like everywhere (u can hardly miss it, right?!). People who know me well, know I have a deep affection for Christmasy stuff like fairs, songs, drinking hot punch and eating cookies, get to getters and the festivity itself. I like listening to Christmas carols (that might happen already in November) and I start writing my Christmas wish list right after my birthday in July. Above some Christmasy stuff I found today: my obligatory classic hot chocolate for breakfast, a "to go" cup (both from Starbucks) and a golden sequin clutch (from ZARA). Well, as for me, I'm already in Christmas mood and enjoy it to the fullest - so may all you Grinches among us wake up, get shaky and rediscover your love for the most wonderful time of the year! Ding dong!

NEW IN
Amsterdam goodies. Even if I had the best shopping advice (thanks again, Emilie) and also spotted some cute Dutch boutiques and 2nd hand shops I ended up with a lot of stuff from the typical high street stores which you can find like all over the globe aka ZARA, H&M, A.A., Monki, you name it - doesn't mean I don't appreciate any of my purchases, not at all! So here we go, let's give a warm welcome to my new pyjama pants, the Peter Pan collar sweater, flower print blouse and the semi transparent blouse by Zara, the checked skirt by A.A., the leather vest and another fuzzy pullover by H&M - hope you all enjoy your new home aka my wardrobe. PLUS some magazines: l'OFFICIEL (NL) covering cute bloggess Tavi and the latest issue of GLAMOUR (GER).
PS: I've also bought some home stuff but left it at home like home home (get it? ;) haha) - too heavy, too breakable.

over the lake
137 steps. high up in the clouds, made my knees weak but I had no time to think about it and the tower which was swaying to and fro as the boats passed one by one down there, was too fascinated by the love locks some couples fixed up there (noticed in the back?), oh so reminded me of Paris where the boy and I did the same, here.
The outfit is quite casual, I wanted to break that school girl-ish image the skirt makes me think of with a wicked item such as the oversize biker leather vest. Also, I consciously gave accessories a miss to let the cute-school-girl-meets-a-tough-biker-combo (picture that! haha) speak for itself, paired it with a black round neck cosy cashmere sweater and was ready to climb the tower.

Family Friday
Get together. After my Amsterdam trip I went home for a family get together. Three days full of harmony, fun and love - in short: balm for the soul. The photos were taken on Friday when my brother, my mother and I decided to have coffee, fresh orange juice and cake at a lovely cafe at the lake Constance.
As we speak I'm already on my way back to Vienna with both, a crying and a laughing eye: I find it always hard to leave the familiar surroundings, a place of warmth and security, where memories flash my mind at every corner and where I'm still the little girl I used to be before I moved out... or so it seems, at least. But then, I'm looking forward to be the grown up one again and enjoy my freedom and self-responsibility to the fullest.
PS: I was wearing some new stuff I purchased back in Amsterdam, gonna show you all asap.

Jolie Sunday
Magazine feature. A perfect Sunday contains: a hot chocolate, original Luxemburgerli macaroons and magazines. But this time the magazine part is different - why? Well, a couple of weeks ago I was asked by the German fashion magazine Jolie if I'd like to be featured in their Internet section, of course I didn't refuse but answered the questions they sent me immediately! I had a hard time waiting for the release (I was sooo excited) but finally it's available and I tell you, it's quite a funny feeling to see yourself in mag. I'd describe it as a mix of goosebumps, a thrill of anticipation, red cheeks, a grin on both ears, bafflement 'cause they've rewritten your answers somehow, coolness and a little bit of pride, of course. You can find my feature on page 31 (in German) or read it below (English translation).

Amsterdam diary part I
"It's a funny city" a waiter told us on our first afternoon in Amsterdam. In fact, it's a stunningly beautiful city: great architecture, romantic canals, cute boutiques, homely cafes, super friendly people, ... frankly, what more do you want? So here we go, my stay in A'dam in pictures (part one):
PS: some of the snaps were taken by my reflex or digital camera or my cousin's iPhone, so the picture quality isn't always the same, never mind.

LSD and LSC
Leather details. I wore my DIY leather sack dress when I met Emilie, through the leather sleeve coat over to not freeze (so cold in Amsterdam, unbelievable!). It's a kinda dark look but I think that's basically what makes the outfit. I also wore some mint green socks which were unintentionally popping up... well, just point it out so I'm the first to say it haha. But as I told you, it was really breezy sooo that had a more practical reason to survive than a fashionable idea behind it OR let's say it adds a funny dash of color ... or whatever ...

Goedemorgen
Amsterdam. I like to wake up in Amsterdam, stroll through the alleys in Amsterdam, take photos in Amsterdam, eat in Amsterdam and finally to fall asleep in Amsterdam, Amsterdam, Amsterdam. Yap, I'm totally in love with Amsterdam, so this is going to be just a quick update and then I'm off again for breakfast at De Koffie Salon. Yesterday, I met lovely Emilie from Fashiolista at the Mazzo, we had tea and hot chocolate and talked about working together, but also about what we like and love to do when we're not blogging. It was really a great pleasure and I hope to stay in touch! After the meeting I went shopping and thanks to Emilie's advice I spotted the special boutiques Amsterdam is famous for. Thanks for that again! In the evening my cousin carried me to a concert of the one and only Smashing Pumpkins (my oh my), but more about that very soon!
Have a wonderful day!

Weekend Snapshots
Saturday & Sunday. My favorite days of the week which I spend watching DVDs (yes, I still buy DVDs! There are some must-have movies like Amélie or Breakfast at Tiffany's or Love Actually or He's just not that into you or The Devil wears Prada... the classics you know ;) haha), applying le vernis and reading magazines, having coffee and other tasty somethings aaand planing the next days - in this case my trip to A'dam tomorrow! Yep and if you're able to decode my TO DO notes you'll find out that I'm not only "off duty" on the way... C.A.N.T. W.A.I.T.

TODAY'S OUTFIT
fluffy ombre sweater. It's cloudy and foggy outside so I decided to drape my today's outfit on the floor and show it like this to you. Fitting the grey sky I'm currently wearing a black to white fading (or "ombre styled" if you want to call it like more fashionable) sweater, my beloved necklace (which I haven't worn for hm... what, a month? it feels like ages. Insane!), a plaited skirt (actually, I wanted to wear my leather plaited skirt since the sweater fuzzes somewhat, but as it turned out that one's still hanging high in my wardrobe at home - yep, back in Vienna again - damn it!) and some heeled brogues. Can you picture it? Hope so, but I'll try to make some photographs despite the poor visibility.

DIY: LSD
Leather Sack Dress. Sometimes a wanna-do-make-cut-sew-glue fever overcomes me. Not only that I've got itchy feed, but sketch and scratch all the time, talk n.o.n. s.t.o.p. about my soon-to-be DIY and just can't wait to prepare all the components so that I'm finally able to play out what makes me that bubbly. And here we are, only a few steps away from the ultimate LSD:

Double Denim
and a dwarf's cap. Never was a big fan of denim shirts or a double denim combo at all but well there I was, strolling up and down Freiburg's alleys, wearing deep blue denim pants and a washed-out-ish light blue denim shirt. I guess the thing is 1. mixing two different types of denim (so important!) and 2. disturbing the whole denim-denim silhouette with a colorful sweater or jacket, so it's never too much. What do you think? Thumbs up or down for double denim?
